Shrugging Off the Wind
Tall Tales from Easington Writers
edited by Wendy Robertson & Avril Joy
In this Lottery funded project, we have used our writing skills to tell stories emerging from collaboration with local groups and individuals. The people in these groups have shared stories of their lives with us which fired our imagination and inspired our fictional stories and poems.
‘Shrugging off the Wind: Tall Tales from Easington Writers’, fulfils our original vision of making our writing widely available in book form. Now people from Easington district and the wider world can read and enjoy at leisure this book that will be launched by a reading event and will, we hope, encourage others to take the plunge and be inspired to write for themselves.
The writing finally emerged from a series of challenging workshops led by author Wendy Robertson who has ensured our involvement in the whole writing and publication process. We have learned how to harness our knowledge and inspiration to write creatively, how to develop our writing skills, how to edit our own work, and to tackle poetry written in the modern style.
To Be Launched at
